3-3/16 SPLIT E1000 2-BOLT PILLOW BLOCK EXPANSION WITH SINGLE COLLAR INSERT & LABYRINTH SEALS

The 3 3⁄16" Split E1000 2-Bolt Pillow Block Expansion Bearing with Single Collar Insert and Labyrinth Seals is Moline Bearing Company part 39322303AL: a split-housing mounted tapered roller bearing in the expansion position. It is fitted with a balanced steel and Teflon labyrinth seal and a single collar, set screw locking insert, in a split 65-45-12 ductile iron housing with a standard painted finish.

It carries a genuine Timken® Enhanced DEE tapered roller insert in a replaceable solid cartridge, so the bearing can be swapped without removing or replacing the housing. The housing is 65-45-12 ductile iron, split so it can be fitted around a shaft in place. Split E1000 units are made, machined and assembled in the USA.

It ships assembled, adjusted, sealed and pre-lubricated with lithium complex grease, so it mounts straight from the box with no adjustment or cleaning.

Ratings

The dynamic load rating is 19,600 lbf and the static load rating is 108,000 lbf. Maximum speed is 1,640 rpm with the balanced steel and Teflon labyrinth seal fitted, and the seal is rated for 0° to 350°F. The insert accepts up to 4° of angular misalignment. Set screws torque to 620 in-lbs, and the locking system holds 16,000 lbf of radial load before the insert slips on the shaft. The grease fitting is 1/8-27 NPT.

This configuration

• Expansion. This position lets the shaft move lengthwise as it heats and grows. Pair it with a non-expansion bearing at the other end. The matching non-expansion unit for this shaft size is 49322303AL.
• Balanced Steel and Teflon Labyrinth Seal. A labyrinth seal combining steel with a Teflon element, adding chemical resistance and a wider temperature range to a non-contact design.
• Single Collar. One locking collar secures the insert to the shaft. Standard for unidirectional rotation and steady loads.
• Set Screw Locking. Set screws in the collar bite into the shaft. Simple and widely used; best where rotation is in one direction.

The bearing insert is NPE42318DEE-401C4. Open end cap 18621303 and closed end cap 18600307 fit this housing.

Applications

The split housing is for shafts that cannot be dismantled to feed a solid bearing on, in the same high radial and thrust load service as Type E: conveying, screening, cranes, mining, forestry, oil, gas, power generation and aggregate. It is dimensionally interchangeable with comparable Type E units, including Moline's Type E, ME2000 and ME3000 lines.
