6-1/2 TYPE E 4-BOLT PILLOW BLOCK – NICKEL PLATED

The 6 1⁄2" Type E 4-Bolt Pillow Block Non-Expansion Bearing with Nickel Plating is Moline Bearing Company part 19341608N: a mounted tapered roller bearing in the non-expansion position. It is fitted with a standard V-Guard contact seal and a double collar, set screw locking insert, in a solid Class 30 cast iron housing with a nickel plated finish.

It carries a genuine Timken® Enhanced DEE tapered roller insert: case-hardened rollers and races made from vacuum-degassed steel, with a double-extended inner race, rated for high radial and thrust loads and slight angular misalignment. The housing is machined to close tolerances, and the unit is made, machined and assembled in the USA.

It ships assembled, adjusted, sealed and pre-lubricated with lithium complex grease, so it mounts straight from the box with no adjustment or cleaning.

Ratings

The dynamic load rating is 70,500 lbf and the static load rating is 574,000 lbf. Maximum speed is 750 rpm with the standard V-Guard contact seal fitted, and the seal is rated for 0° to 250°F. The insert accepts up to 0.05° of angular misalignment. Set screws torque to 2,150 in-lbs, and the locking system holds 72,000 lbf of radial load before the insert slips on the shaft. The grease fitting is 1/8-27 NPT.

This configuration

  • Non-Expansion. This position holds the shaft axially. Use one non-expansion bearing per shaft to locate it lengthwise.
  • Standard V-Guard Contact Seal. Moline's standard contact seal, with a lip riding on the insert to exclude contamination.
  • Double Collar. Two locking collars share the clamping load, improving holding power under reversing rotation or shock.
  • Set Screw Locking. Set screws in the collar bite into the shaft. Simple and widely used; best where rotation is in one direction.
  • Nickel Plated. A nickel-plated exterior giving better corrosion resistance than paint while keeping a cast iron housing.

The bearing insert is JHM840449-N0000. Open end cap 18601608 and closed end cap 18600615 fit this housing.

Applications

Type E units are specified where radial loads, thrust loads or both are high and misalignment is minimal.
